While it looks as though the shrub and I are getting a jump on the changing colors of the season, the reds observed in this photo are actually flower petals rather than leaves.

In the ongoing debate of iPhone vs camera the iPhone wins out on this one... often times when I'm out and see a shot, with no camera at my side, all I can do is mourn what could have been.  Now, I just whip out my phone.  Even so, I'm not entirely convinced.  Don't be surprised if these pictures show up again in a few days, this time taken with my Fuji.
